That is good advice. I have currently been using the 1TB Ext HD partitioned 500GB/500GB. One half is for Time Machine, the other is my server/secondary backup files. It was for my MacBook Air but Im basically getting that taken away so I have to start over. I used my MacBook Air for video production as well. I eventually would like to get another. I was planning on giving my gf the MBP in that alternate scenario. But she's totally happy with her iPad and the prospect of having the Mac Mini setup. An added benefit for the Mac Mini setup Im realizing is that it will be a nice charging station for my chic's iPad 3 and the iPhones. Quick question.... when you say you dont have to connect the iPad 3 to the computer (Mac Mini), is that because you have them sync'ing wirelessly? Or were you refering to the fact that you dont have to sync them to your MBP?
