iMac - Built-in isight not detected I'm having the same problem with a new iMack 24 (Intel). I bought a new iMac in January and within a week the camera was no longer recognized. After 2 hours on the phone with Apple support they finally agreed to exchange the iMac for a new one. The new one arrived on Feb. 7 and worked fine until yesterday when Photo Booth stopped working with the "Photo Booth cannot open because no camera is attached or the camera is in use by another application" screen appeared. Looking in the System Profilier, there is no listing of the iSight camera on the USB Device Tree. I just installed the iPhoto Update (v. 6.0.6) and updated the OS to 10.4.9 today and it made no difference (still no camera available). The computer is still under warantee, but I'm reluctant to phone Apple since the last go-around resulted in (2) wasted hours and then (10) days without a computer while they waited for the first iMac to be returned and then sent the replacement one by the slowest (cheapest) possible route. Does anyone know what's going on? Apple sure doesn't seem to.
