Hi
My Late 2015 iMac bluetooth keyboard has started to type © instead of g. If i press the option key I also get ©.
Could this be software related or is my keyboard damaged in some way.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Hi docx

I'd start by going into System Preferences > Keyboard > Text. There you will see "Replace..." "With..."

You may find that "g" is replaced by the copyright symbol. In my case I had the letter "(c)" replaced with copyright which was a bind if I was typing a sequence (a), (b), (c), etc - and I deleted it.

And I presume you are using British English (System Preferences > Language and Region "English (UK) Primary").

Have you put new batteries in it , or made sure it is charged?

I have a 2009 Apple Wireless Keyboard, and I always put new batteries in, when it doesn’t do what I type.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I have looked at the replace settings and unfortunately there is nothing there.
Everything© I can find is set to UK.
Thanks

That seems like a good charge percentage, but I would still charge it completely, to see if the behavior changes.

If the behavior doesn’t change, then the keyboard is not working properly.

Does it happen in all apps, or just one app? If it’s just one app, it could be software related.

I'll try recharging it to 100% but i feel it must be the keyboard as it's happening© in all Apps.

In that case, I agree.

The © symbol is created by pressing Alt-G, at least on my default US keyboard. I use that a lot, so I know it well. Could it be that your Alt/Option key is sticking?

I think you're correct.
I tried it with my macBook pro with the same results.

Did any Liquid possibly spill or even splash on the keys?

I don't think so but i can't be 100% sure.
I think a new keyboard is the only answer.
