Anyone know or use a backlighted keyboard even if its aftermarket? Seen my friends laptop today (MacAir) and loved the look. I can't seem to locate one for Apple? Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks..

Are you talking about an external keyboard?

Yeah, I really like that keyboard although it's a bit pricey. There are other backlighted keyboards, specifically by Logitech and several other makers, but they don't come close to the Moshi Luna. It's a real nice keyboard.

The reason why I asked was. In post #1 you mentioned seeing this "backlit keyboard" on a friends MacBook Air. The built-in keyboard on newer model MacBook Air's is backlit. So it was a bit confusing if you were talking about the MacBook Air's built-in backlit keyboard or an external backlit keyboard being used with the MacBook Air.

But ok you cleared it up. It's an external keyboard.:)

Nick I just really liked the keyboard for typing in low light. I would love to have that Luna for my new iMac but I'll wait for a few months before making that purchase.

chscag thanks for the link

We all do. You can even do it in zero light!!!:)

My wife had an older white MacBook a couple years ago. The white MacBooks don't have a backlit keyboard. I sold her 2009 white MacBook...and purchased a 2010 13" MacBook Pro specifically for the backlit keyboard. The 2010 MacBook Pro in most ways was really no better than the 2009 white MacBook (performance-wise)...it was all about the backlit keyboard!;)

I actually made a profit on the deal. Sold the 2009 MacBook for $450...got the 2010 13" MacBook Pro for $400 (a couple years ago when it was worth closer to $600)!":)

You need to use your iMac in a well lit room...and get a used MacBook Pro for the backlit keyboard benefits for other areas not so well lit!;) A 2010 13" MacBook Pro can be had for around $350-$400. Take the $99 for the external backlit keyboard + $300...and you got a whole 2nd computer!:)

p.s. Of course I had my wife's permission to sell her 2009 MacBook...and get her the 2010 13" MacBook Pro!;)

Nick were can I get one of them? I don't care much for Ebay because I always seem to end up with someone else's headache instead of a nice running machine.

The other issue that drives me crazy is I will be primarily working on the iMac. When I move to my living room with a laptop nothing is the same. No bookmarks, no saved passwords, no documents. If there was a way to mirror the iMac to the MacBook so even the recent changes would show up I would buy one asap!

- You got to watch Craig's List like a hawk (I'm talking 25-30x/day)…or more!
- The best deals don't last long. Many of the best deals you will never see…because the item will be posted…sold VERY quickly…and the post deleted.
- You got to be the first person to contact the seller.
- Have the cash ready ahead of time (to save time).
- Be ready to jump in your car at a moments notice.

:):)
