I realise that I am possible sullying the forum with a question not related to an iPhone, but?

I have a Motorola Moto G7 Power phone and I have recently switched something on that's getting annoying and can't find out what it is or how to switch the blasted thing off!

Every morning at 09.00 a chime sounds. I have no idea what is setting it off and gone through all of the settings and can't find it.

So if anyone has any ideas then I am all ears (well, apart from the bits that aren't ears of course :cautious::unsure: ) and be very grateful to hear them?

Ta in advance.

You didn't mention which Android version it is running?

In iOS there is a Clock app and in the Alarm mode there is an option to set a Sleep/Wake Up schedule. The sound goes off at the wake up time. Maybe there is something like that in Android?

It is running Android 10.

There is a Bedtime schedule thing but it isn't set as far as I can see.

I used to be totally at home with a phone that just made phone calls  and my camera that just took photographs.

Go into Settings, find Sounds and see if there's anything there you can turn off.

it could really be any app that is sounding the chime. You may have inadvertently set it

I can't see anything in there Sue. I have also gone down the list of applications on there and none see, applicable?

Since it happens at the same time each day.....
Have you checked
Clock>Alarms?
There is a setting there where an alarm sounds automatically at the same time each day.

There was only one alarm set and it was not turned on. It was for 07.00 and I have deleted it. So I will see what happens in the morning?

But it was for 7 not 9

I have a Samsung ohone with an older version of Android and whenever a sound goes off there is a message at the top of the display that tells you what triggered it.
I don't know if that is a basic feature of the Android version I use or an add-on by Samsung, but I assume you don't get that or you wouldn't ask the question.

I haven't seen a message Krs, but I will look in the morning if I get the chance.

The message only appears for a few seconds when the sound is triggered so you have to be near your phone and look as soon as you hear the sound.

That's possibly why I haven't seen one?

Must try harder, must try harder. I'll see if I can get that to stay in my brian cell? It's OK, I call my brain cell brian:cool:

Hey John:

I found something that you can use to turn off the alarm. You probably have one laying around the house. :rofl

There's no way on this Earth of ours that I would ever stoop to that Chas. It may well cause damage and hammers aren't cheap, they don't grow on trees you know!

Anyway, my 14lb watchmakers adjuster has just been calibrated and I don't want to go through that again until at least next year mate!!!

Well, how do you expect them to be cheap, especially after all of the testing and checking they have to go through to be calibrated properly to meet government certification.

I remember a;; of the test I had to have before I was certified :(

Oh yes, I knew there was a reason to update this thread?

I have found what is causing the above problem. I have a Health Tracker/Step Checker app and it chimes at 09.00 every day to tell me , well, I have no idea what it's trying to tell me actually, but it does it every day and I have no idea how the **** I can switch it off? Not the tracker itself, but the blasted chime!

If it was an iPhone, I would say, "Open Settings/Notifications and look for the app. Turn off any sound notifications." Given it's Android, translate that to whatever Android has to do the same thing.

Well Jake, being an old poor retired git who can't really afford to eat anything nice and definitely can't afford an iPhone :unsure: ( Any tears yet ? ) I just have a cheepy android, but when I looked at the application itself there's an option called 'Profile' which didn't sound promising, but after all else failed I had a gander at it and in there is a 'Reminder' set to 'on' every day at 09.00. So I think that I have cracked it by turning the dammed thing OFF.

So here's hoping??? But thank you for your idea. It made me have another look :app:app:app
