Adding an Airport Express wirelessly to Extreme

We have a 4 level house. The computer the greatest distant from the AirPort Extreme does not receive a very strong wireless signal. Our Extreme is the latest model - A1521. I'm wondering if I can use an AirPort Express WIRELESSLY to extend the network in the house? I believe the added on Express can be configured through the AirPort Utility app. So hope would be to just plug the new Express in to AC power and then configure it as a "second" router.

You can try with the AE but with a house that large and that many levels, I would take a look at using Powerline Adapters to extend the network. You can find them on Amazon or B&H in NY.

It can be done. On the Airport Express - access it with Airport Utility. You want to go to the wireless setting and choose extend a wireless network. Name the network the same as your current wireless network and use the same password. Plug it in where you want it to go and hopefully the little pin hole size light will be green. It should also show up on your mac in Airport Utility. Or check out the first link that will show you how to do it using a wizard. BTW - it will act as a repeater not a router. It will extend your signal.
