i found an mac pro 2009 updated to 5,1 with the following stats for $350:

2 x Intel 2.26 Ghz Quad Core Processors (8 Core)
500 GB Hard Drive
16 GB RAM
Nvidia geForce GT 120 Graphics card
DVD+/-RW drive
Im going to check it out today but not sure what to look as far as system condition .
Im a ex PC builder so I know that realm a little... Im totally new to Mac pro and the upgrades.

It is likely that that vintage of Mac Pro is running the latest version of macOS that will be supported going forward. So you may want to think about how long you're going to keep this machine and your use for it. Is there a reason you are looking at the Mac Pro and not a newer desktop like the Mac Mini or iMac? What is your use case that is pushing you towards this machine? What is your budget?
