basic question

I just got a new IMAC as a gift. It is beautiful.
Do I need to put on any type of Anti Spyware or Anti Virus protection, and what would be the best one if needed.
I also downloaded Senuti to put my I Tunes on the new computer. It worked great, but I now have 2 icons on the desktop for Senuti, and I caanot seem to get rid of them. Any ideas?

no virus/spy software needed. Have you tried dragging the folders to the trash can on your desktop's dock?

Yes I did. When clicking on the icon, the trash can disappears.

Yes it does turn into an eject symbol. I tried to drag it in there, and got a message that the program is in use. I really just do not want the icon visible on the desktop.

Ah. you must have it running then. You can drag it to the applications folder to move it. If it is the little disk looking icon thats giving you the problem you will need to quit senuti and then drag the senuti program to your applications folder.then once that is finished make sure senuti is not running (look for it in the dock. if its running it will have a triangle under it). Then drag the disk to the trash.

The thing that turns the Trash Can into an eject symbol is a Disk Image also known as a DMG when you download a program it comes in one of those, open it up and drag the file/file in the disk image into the application folder or wherever you want to keep it on you computer and than eject the disc image, you should not run programs off of disc images, you should put them on you computer first.

Your suggestions have worked. I just learned the proper way to quit the application, so it let me drag the icon to the eject symbol. The program is in my applications folder, so I feel things are good.
