    add/remove programs in OS X
    Hey,

    I just got a new emac superdrive model, DAMN COOL if you ask me
    first time using OS X and was wondering if there was the equivelant to
    Add/Remove programs in Windows?

    Nope just drag and drop the applications from the applications folder into the trash
    Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

    wow, I was just going to ask the same question lol. I got my 12" Powerbook yesterday and it's awesome. I'll never go back to windows again.

    Love it...simpicity iteslf. The only other file you need to trash is the *.plist file for the app in question. Doing a Sherlock finds all necessary files, then it's trasheroo!!

    I think it's a sort of preference file for the app, but don't do a 'sherlock' for it, just type the app's name into your finder window's built-in search box and trash any files that turn up.

    Although I think the .plist files are relatively tiny and don't slow down your mac so you could just leave them i suppose...

    Speaking of the Bin, is there a key combo to circumvent the trashbin? Windows had Shift+ Delete.

    Or download Xupport for free and change the system preferences so that when you delete something normally it just gets deleted permanently.
