I use my mac Pro 99% for Photoshop work.

sometime ago I was browsing around in the system and some how turned on a voice over feature. It speaks each window opening and mouse click ect.

I also get a black outline around around boxes I mouse click on.

How do I turn it off, it's driving me crazy. I've tried but can't locate where I turn it off. I even copied the voice over feature to an external hard drive and dragged the utility to the trash and dumped it.

Help please!!!!!!

Sorry I didn't have an opportunity to check back until now.

Thanks for the info.

To make oneself feel exceptionally stupid all that is required is to switch from PC to MAC.

Thanks again.

OH MY GOD Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
VoiceOver was most annoying! Like the initial person who posted this question, I don't even really know how the heck I turned VO on... (perhaps I should stop playing with all the buttons). I searched my machine and opened the utility and still could not figure out how to turn it off

You can avoid these painfully annoying accidental problems by going into the System Preferences and choosing the Keyboard icon. In there, you can turn off keyboard shortcuts for a lot of things, including Voice Over, Dashboard, Expose, etc...

Voice Over

Thank you so much for this advice. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who accidentally turned it on & couldn't figure out how to turn it off! It's been driving me crazy all week. It's now blissfully quiet. All this because I was trying to figure out how to make my yahoo messenger & video cam be able to communicate without having to type. It used to do it but something has gone wrong with it. It keeps telling me to check my connections. Done but still doesn't work.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THE SILENCE:)

This is exactly how my father apparently got voice over turned on, by cat. Funny thing was he has speakers but kept them turned off so he never heard the voice. Thanks for posting the fix here though. Saved me a two hour trip!

In order to avoid a CATastrophe, keep kitty off the keyboard. ;P
