Well I was so frustrated when I woke up this morning with my Toshiba. I close the lid before I go to bed...hear the familiar "I am in stand by mode" beep and go to sleep.
I grab the laptop from the side of the bed and it is steaming hot! weird...so I open the lid and see the familiar message of "Insufficient resources to complete api" :radioacti
Which is english means that something prevented the computer from going into stand by therefore leaving it on all night with the lid closed!!
Well as of 9:15am PST I am a new MacBook Pro owner. I just purchased a refurb MAcBook Pro with the following specs:
Refurbished MacBook Pro, 15-inch, 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Part Number: FA609LL/A
Backlit Keyboard/Mac OS - U.S. English
SuperDrive 6x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Widescreen Display
120GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Accessory Kit
1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 1x1GB
I figured I have 2 Gb of DDR2 SDRAM in my toshiba....I will just basically take the two out of that and put it into the macbook.
The only thing I was trying hard to decide between was eitehr 128mb or 256mb of video ram. There is not alot of decisions to make on refurb machines.
They had a 256MB video ram machine..but it also added another 1GB or ram which shot the price another $700 total. My XP machine has 256MB of video ram in it...so I will just use that for games if I need to. (Like I have time for games anyway with 3 kids under 7, running a business, and trying to have a life!)
Well time to bookmark all the downloads pages for all the software!
