Do different types of Macs have different type of Mic connections?? My speaker connections are RCA but my Mac microphone won't connect it is much smaller. I would have assumed all Macs (at least desktops) would be the same type connection.

All macs have what's called an 1/8" stereo phone jack, the exact same as your iPod or your headphones/pc speakers use. You'll need to get a composite RCA-to-1/8" adapter to use your speakers.
