    Automatically starting applications
Newly switched user with a pretty dumb question...

How can I automatically start applications when I login (specifically iChat). In Windows I could set certain apps to start when Windows start (e.g. MSN Messenger) and failing that I could use the Startup folder. Is there an equivalent on the iMac?

    Thanks,
    Paul

in the System Preferences under Accounts there is a tab labeled 'Login Items'. Click on the little (+) plus sign at the bottom and choose the apps you want to start up
