How partition a new Mac Mini (and install Leopard)

I am down to getting a Mac Mini that will run ProTools 8. I want to use the 40 inch HDTV for editing ProTools two main windows and for being able to really see the waveforms for editing.
I did not think there was much of a difference between Lepoard and Snow Leopard - unless that is when Apple stopped using Rosetta. I thought that support was discontinued with Lion.

I just do not need ProTools 10 for what I do. It is not worth $400 plus $50 for an iLock dongle and then tax on top of both.

Anway, the late year release of the 2010 Mac Mini came with Snow Leopard installed...if that supports ProTools 8 - or if not, would allow me to install Leopard, I am good to go.

Yes...I mentioned this back in post #12 of the thread.

    I'm not sure if this is a question...but no...the mid-2010 Mac-Mini cannot run Leopard (OS 10.5).

The mid-2010 Mac-Mini was the last Mac-Mini to be able to run Snow Leopard (it shipped with Snow Leopard)...that's the main point of this computer...it's the last Mac-Mini to be able to run Snow Leopard.

This means Snow Leopard is the "oldest" Mac OS version this Mac-Mini can run. Since Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) is older than Snow Leopard...a mid-2010 Mac-Mini cannot run Leopard. But a mid-2010 Mac-Mini running Snow Leopard can run Rosetta...which allows the running of older PPC apps.

So FINAL QUESTION! Amazon has the Mid-2010 - MC270LL/A Mac Mini. The one with the best price has OSX 10.7 on it. I am going to assume that by putting this on the person that did it also did not do some kind firmware that would prevent me from returning it to Snow Leopard? And finally, Can I zero format this drive from it's Disk Utility app and then partition it into two drives - one with Snow Leopard for ProTools8 and one with Mountain Lion so I finally can download a version of iTunes that will work with my iPhone 5! I think if I put 8MB of RAM in it the machine should be highly capable.
I think this is all I need to know!
    Thanks again!

    Specs:
    Mid-2012 MBP (16GB, 1TB HD), Monoprice 24-inch second monitor, iPhone 5s 32GB, iPad Air 2 64GB
For the record: the latest iTunes runs on 10.6.8, and works with your iPhone 5. iCloud, however, won't.
