Miglia TVMini+ Not recognised by Eye TV (Tiger)

I have recently acquired a Miglia TVMini+ TVM61 and whilst I now know that Miglia is no more and the software link on the Software CD is useless as it refers to a non existant website, I still would like to try and use it. I have EYE TV however it fails to recognise the TVMini+ stick.

I have seen elsewhere that there was an issue with EYE TV not recognising certain versions of the TVMIni+, however the version of software I have has incorporated these changes. The TVMini+ shows up correctly in System Profiler and I have no other USB/Firewire devices attached.

I appreciate this an old piece of hardware but I wondered if anyone experienced this issue? Without any other software I can't test if the actual TVMini+ (Was brand new) is faulty. Does anybody know where I might be able to locate the original Miglia TV software to test. I understand that no drivers are needed to be installed, so Eye TV should work.

I have a MID 2007 MacBook with Tiger 10.4.11

Hi Gandolph

Many thanks for this. Unfortunately it refers to a link back to the Miglia website (Now non-existent) and given that Elgato stopped supplying Eye TV with the Miglia MIniTV+ for reasons I not sure. It seems I have a totally unsupported product!! The crux of this problem is finding another way to test if the device is actually working, even though it does show up in the system profiler. (The light comes on and it gets warm when connected to the USB Port)

I am not aware of any other video capture software that is compatible with MiniTV+ that I can test or evaluate. I would be interested if any other MAC users experienced this from 2007 2008 and found a solution.

Wow!! I thought I would never find a possible solution to my problem. I have researched everywhere and the problem is still not sorted. Hein, Thank you for posting a reply, even more so that you are a new member. Your file could be just the answer I need as I have never been able to test the Miglia TV Max+ device because I never even had original software as the CD contained a link to a website that was defunct. I had and still have a project for this device so I would like to somehow get this software It is possible to email a file of that size and could be made smaller by zipping it up. Not sure how we can exchange emails offline though. Do you have Dropbox? Either way I shall think of a way that we can exchange this dmg file. Many Thanks again.

I would suggest if you do manage to get this file from a 1st time poster, that you download a good anti-virus app and check out the file prior to running it and providing your admin password on your machine.

HI
I have since started to use My Miglia device again, ( a Family member asked me to put their vhs family videos onto dvd)I wasn't using it for a while,It used to work properly with Snow Leopard, Im not sure about mountain lion( I think I still used it with mountain lion, but are unsure), it doesn't work properly with Mavericks, I get the device to display the tv picture from the aerial/and Audio/Video connections, but the moment I want to record or set a Scheduled recording it pops a error menu telling me that 'some application is using the video signal" or something along those lines, but I can still watch TV on my imac via the device, so you will then have to use Quicktime or some screen-recorder app to record from the device window on your display ( if you use Mavericks)

I also have a (oldish) Macbookpro, that Im going to revert to mountain lion/or swop out the drive with a second drive, to get mountain lion/snow leopard running to get Miglia running to do the conversions.

Why are their no software on your cd and only a link, do you mind adding a photo to the forum so that I can see what the CD looks like.

Let me know if you still want the software ( as its not working properly on mavericks) and ill see what I can do /how dropbox work.

The OP wasn't offering anything that could possibly affect someone else's computer in a negative way.

And the primary way we, as users of OS X, stay clear of malware since a large number of us don't run anti-virus software on our machines, is by not downloading / opening anything from unknown / unquantified sources.

If you are on the up & up, no reason to get defensive.
I for one, hope that you can assist the OP.
Although, still wouldn't open the file without checking it first.

Has anyone tried VLC with that piece of hardware? I know it is primarily a media player but VLC also has an "open Capture Device" command. Access it from the File menu. Try it with the device attach attached and see if it works.

Two things of note:
1. I have not had not had a lot of luck with this thus far.
2. You may need to move the VLC program out of any subfolders and into the main Applications folder.

BTW even if this does not work it's a free program that's a good media player so no loos if it doesn't work.

Not sure If you are still there, but does your CD/DVD have the software key on it?

Hi Hein

Sorry I have been away on a family emergency. Yes I still want it. The CD I have has the words MilgaTV & PDF User Guide on the Front. Code at bottom is PCD----221--1GP. On the CD there are three files in the root folder.

Download MigliaTV (URL)(Which links you to http://www.miglia.com/Support/migliatv/) Defunct!!

MilgliaTV User Guide (PDF)

www.miglia.com (URL)

Thats all.

I pleased that yours still seems to be working with Snow Leopard. I run both Tiger and Snow Leopard. I have discovered that I could send you a private message to exchange details so as to enable transfer of the software.

Many Thanks

I have a TV Max + including CD code, got if from my cousin to digitize our family tapes.
Don't have the latest software however, and I cannot find it anywhere!

Does anyone have the 1.1.6 software update .dmg from Miglia?

Thanks so much..
