Does iBooks not exist in OS X Mountain Lion on my new MacBook Pro?

Apple does not offer the ability to read your iBooks books on a computer.
Mobile devices only.

Yet another reason why Amazon wins the ebook war.

Yep. A big plus for the Amazon Kindle reader for the Mac! I would much prefer buying books from Apple rather than Amazon but as long as Apple insists that iBooks can only be read on iOS devices, they're not getting my $$.
