well i splurged and bought a new mac and junked the PC i had , (i though that was the plan :eek:neye: ) go i got the new g5 2.0 and a 23 hd from the local apple store lot of cash for a student But i do design so it's worth it, I'm super stoked to get it home , set it up no problem:) leave it on over night No Problem, burn some if my pics from my old pc on a cd to be done with the pc and boom the Superdrive is stuck!!!!! ive had this machine for less than 14 hours and i had to take it into apple repairs , this reason this suck is cause ive had nothing but headaches and problems with my 2 pcs over the last 3 years and i was trying to get rid of that, so it's kinda ironic that the last cd burned from my pc jamms in the drive, one last revenge i guess , JUST VENTING :spook: hopefully apple hooks me up with something of at least a letter of apologie

A stuck CD is not necessarily a drive problem, it could simply be a CD/DVD with errors on it (I had that with some PC-made CDs/DVDs).

If you can't eject it by pressing the eject-button on the keyboard, or dragging the CD to the trash (it's the Mac way to eject any media, CDs/DVDs, external harddisks, USB memory sticks, etc.), you can try DiskUtility (in Applications -> Utilities). Select the CD/DVD in the left column, and click on the eject icon.

If all of this fails, restart the Mac while holding the mouse button (left one if you have a multi-button mouse). That will open the CD tray.

Macs are less troublesome than PCs, yet that doesn't mean they are totally perfect. A Mac, just like a PC, is just a computer, made of a bunch of electronic stuff. And that, unfortunately can always fail, no matter if it's a 300,- or 3000,- computer.

It doesn't matter if you drive a VW Golf or a Porsche Carrera GT...when you stuck with an engine that doesn't start, the price doesn't really make a difference...and it can happen to both
