Long story short; I bought an ibook after getting a ipod mini. It is my living room/coffee shop/work computer. But I find I am using it more and more.

A local retailer is selling off the last model of imac for cheap. A 17inch 2g with superdrive for 1249.00 cdn. So it got me thinking I could replace my desktop pc (actual a 15 inch laptop) because the only thing I use it for is outlook and my pda. But there is the problem. I have sony th55 which I love. I have software that clones outlook that I could live without and return to palm, but I can't live without documents to go. I have to beable to work with word/exel/PP files though out the day. The TH55 doesn't work with mac and I have not found a a patch to fix the problem.

So what is my piont????

Is the price on the imac a good one and is there a way to manage office files and sync my th55 to the mac. I don't want to buy a new pda.

the price sounds great...its about 1055 us and retailed for 1499 us. You could get ms office 2004 for your office files. not sure about the th55. you may be able to use isync/ical/adress book. or maybe you could use entourage that comes with ms office.

The TH55 does not support Mac OS X, which is surprising given that Apple is a big supporter of Blu-Ray. Honestly, though, with the money you save on the iMac, you could afford to sell the PDA used, buy a new one that DOES support the iMac, and still come out well.

I was never able to get the markspace patch demo to work so I have been reluctant to buy it. As for a different PDA, I really like the th55, I could switch to the tung e2, but that would eat up the savings from the imac. I have never had luck selling old tech. Thanx for the replies, I was just kinda thinking out loud.
