Hooking up my mac to the TV

i have the cords in order to hook up my mac to the TV but when i hook it up it looks like outer space on my TV even though my mac isnt showing it. So i have no clue what is going on any help?

Do you need to change the video input? Or possibly the channel? My guess is the video input though.

i tried changing the video input and putting it on channel 3,4 and all it shows is like redish blueish sky

so i got it on my screen now my problem is no audio i do have the hook up for my mac

Sounds like your initial problem was that you were seeing the "extended" desktop and not a "mirror" of your own desktop; apparently you got that worked out.

Yes, you'll need a second cable to output from the headphone jack of your Mac to the sound input of your TV if you want audio as well.
