Keyboard for large hands!

I've got the normal mac keyboard the imacs come with. I have used it for the last 2 yrs, but the last 12 months I have been doing much more computer work.. I'm a big guy and I have pretty big hands and fingers. Does anyone know of a keyboard that has larger keys, or just a larger keyboard in general?

I'm not concerned about price, I'll pay whatever it costs. I've seen a few of the logitech ones, they look nice. Does anyone have experience with these? are the bigger or more comfortable then your normal mac keyboard?

I consider the Apple keyboards to be unusable. Just like a laptop keyboard. But I have been using big PC keyboards for decades and just can't get used to soft touch keys.

A couple of options.

Apple used to make a normal keyboard that was full sized with full key travel. They don't sell it anymore but you can find it new on Ebay and a lot of surplus stores. I bought one and it works fine. About $30US.

Almost any PC keyboard will work, with the caveat that you will lose some special key functions, or you will have to play with add on software to get them back. That being said, I use an old 1991 IBM keyboard that is full sized and really clacks when I type. It has a PS2 connector jumpered through a USB adapter. The touch and feel is worth having to remap the Option and Control keys - which I seldom use anyway. Plus, it has a lifetime of about 200 years.

If you use a PC keyboard, the first time you boot up, OSX will tell you that it isn't recognized, but will immediately allow you to identify it by hitting certain keys.

Good luck. It took me a long time to get used to laptop keyboards. I kept hitting the Shift keys when I wanted the "a" and the ".

What about your mouse? I hate those tiny standard sized ones. They cause my hand to cramp up. Love this one:

You might want to take a look at the Matias TactilePro 3 then. It's for people who like the old Apple desktop keyboards and since it's made for Macs you don't have to remap keys.

I personally like laptop style keyboards so I really can't offer anymore suggestions. The biggest thing I hate about the new Apple keyboards is that the keys are flat and not cup shaped. With a cup shape design I can easily find the center of the keys when pressed. With flat keys I've noticed that I hit the edges of the keys more than I would like and causes me to have typos. Just a slight cup design is all that is needed. The previous Mac keyboards used to have an inlet cup design.
