Locking keyboard/screen

Is there any way to lock the keyboard or the screen and still have the webcam broadcast and receive?

My husband is overseas on a job, and we like to leave the webcams on. Saves on the phone bills. SO anyways, my 3 year old like to mess with the macbook. I don't like to shut the laptop as then we have to reconnect with the webcams. And I don't want him to do anything that can't be reversed....

Have you tried switching users while the webcam is active?

Dimming the screen to 0 might help? Did switching users work?

I forgot to mention that this is with Skype if that would make a difference. (Husband is a PC user)

I have no idea what u mean by switching users. Can u elaborate for me?

I have tried dimming the screen but the child still will mess with the keyboard and track pad.

I think they are reffering to switching users as in logging out to a different user.

I must be missing something, but wouldn't just putting a password on a screensaver do the trick?

dztraw - i think the settings in iChat prefs would stop that;

and even remaining logged in to 2 Users, switching between them will cause log out and log in of chat regardless whether the same chat log in registration or not IMO;
