when i tried to securely empty my trash can, it says this

The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items.

i am logged in as a Admin, and my trash shows stuff in there but when i click on the trash to view what is in there, it won't show me the contant thats in there but yet when trying to delete it there is 54 items in there.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

I suspect the item(s) giving you trouble are apps or processes that are still running. Go to System Preferences and check your Login Items list and also review all of the items in the "Other" category at the bottom of the window. Bring up Activity Monitor in Utilities and look for processes that relate to the items you're trying to trash.
