    Restore Desktop in Finder
I was trying out an app call PathFinder to replace the finder but I didn't like it and I uninstalled it, it was a trial. I checked an option that was "Hide the Finder Desktop". Now that the app is gone my Finder desktop is not appearing, I don't see the folders or the icon for my hardrive. Is there a way I can restore the desktop?

Reinstall PathFinder - uncheck the "Hide the Finder Desktop" box

If you can't reinstall Pathfinder as Bobtomay recommends, you can use this method of unhiding as given here: Link

The easiest way though is as Bob recommends.

    Regards.

Next best bet is to check with the PathFinder forums.

That happened to me once... but I have never used PathFinder, and when I rebooted, it worked. Similar problem (same "symptoms") but I don't know what the solution was.

Throw away your Mac. It is lost forever! Nah, but really, reinstall it.
