Yeah, yeah, kinda a dumb question, provided there are drivers, will x86 pci/agp cards work in a mac?......for example, my adaptec 2940uw scsi pci card, and nvidea gforce agp card?

Graphics card def won't. The BIOS on the card needs to be of MAC type. I think you can flash it, but its risky.
