Only thing I can suggest is boot with the OSX DVD. One of the menu options is Reset Password and there you can reset it to a new one. This time make it something you will not forget! :D

Just before you would start to install click on the drop down menus and look for Reset Password.

I have heard this answer before, and know it works, but doesn't this mean that anybody could just throw a startup disk in you Mac and get in?

Good question - does this only work with the original disk or will it also work with a retail disk?

I'm sure a few google searches would get me the answer but I'm feeling a bit lazy.

I know on windows machines I used to have fun booting to a Linux live Distro called Austrumi, it was specifically geared to blank the admin password it took all of 2 minutes :)

Maybe Apple has just decided to make it easier, after all if someone gets a hold of your laptop they are going to be able to crack it eventually anyways.
