Rough timer of start up times of various applications on the mb v the ssd mba:

itunes
2 secs mba
11 secs mb

safari
0.8 secs mba
4.5 secs mb

iphoto
2.4 secs mba
16 secs mb

garage band
mba 3.5 secs
6.3 secs mb

imovie
7.1 secs mba
11,5 secs mb

pretty nteresting and conclusive. The mb's hdd was 5400 rpm, imagine the 4200 rpm of the low end mba.

How old was the MB? I've noticed over the months that programs take longer to open now on my MBP than they did when I first got it. Still, very interesting to see some hard numbers on how the ssd drive is working.

mb is one year old. so it shoud be fine. Amybe it isnt, but im sure that o some the margin is big enough to still be conclusive.

really pretty meaningless without any stats on the machines (cpu, memory, hd, running on plug or battery, etc)...
