i have a macbook pro, with tiger on it, and i have a friend who just got a macbook; i was just wondering if i could put leopard on my macbook pro with the restoration disk that came with his computer. thanks for the help.

You couldn't do it both technically nor legally. Restoration discs are tied to specific models, so his Macbook discs wouldn't work on your Macbook Pro. Then, of course, there's that annoying little thing called the law that prevents you from installing a single copy of Leopard on more than one machine.

Go and buy a full retail install version of Leopard and use that. You can bet you will need the install DVD urgently when he is out of town etc.
