im thinking of buying an external DVD drive to use with my C2D Macbook.

the reason why is my macbook was bought when i lived in the UK, so is Region 2. but i now live in Canada, so would like to now play region 1 DVD's. but i still need to be able to play region 2 DVD's as i bought 100's with me from the UK.

so my plan is to buy a region 1 external drive here in Canada, and then play the region 1 DVD's in that, and region 2 DVD's in the internal drive.

so will the macbook air drive work with a macbook?

if not can anyone recommend a good usb, or firewire DVD drive?
thanks

No. It needs a high powered port which only the Macbook Air has...

A DVD region can be changed like 5 times.

So if you get an external drive, then yes, it will play Region 2 DVDs no problems.

I can't recommend you any though. Just make sure it is Firewire, cause USB is not good for stuff like Burning DVDs and such.
