DVD Burner Recommendations

It seems that my optical drive needs to be replaced. So I did some searching online for a new one. and I am really lost. Many are PC-compatible only.... I just need a cheap one that wont break on me (burns DVD dual layer discs, dont need to burn CDs) any suggestions or recommendations? also is it better to buy one through internet or at best buy/circuit city etc? also, i prefer external ones rather than internal ones since they are easier to use probably. thank you everyone!

Chose an external, firewire model to get what you need. We have a Lacie and we love it! Does everything, including LightScribe!
