iPhoto problem loading

I have a Mac osx with a 10.5.2 upgrade and when i try to open iphoto it gives me the spinning will of death. it just says it's loading and never does. I have checked the iphoto library folder and most of the pictures are missing. however, i checked finder and found all of them in my "all images folder". it would be great if anyone could help me fix this problem....thanks.

There was a recent iPhoto update that just came out. Have you installed that update? Check Software Update to see if it's there or not.
