changing control click?

2.2 ghz intel core 2 duo processor, 120 gig hd, 1 gig of ram, leopord-macbook 80 gig ipod classic
i need to do a control click command in VMware(its a shortcut for a windows program) without the secondary click menu coming up. is there a way i can change the control click to something else? ive been trying to find out all day

In VMWare's Preferences, uncheck "Enable Mac OS mouse shortcuts."

ibook g4, imac 2ghz c2d, mbp 2.4ghz c2d - 10.5.1
if you are running on a laptop - macbook or macbook pro you can allow two fingers and click for right click in os x. Whether this transfers to vmware i dont know as I dont use it.
