boot from G4 tower, view on iBook G4

I have a G4 tower I'd like to be able to link to my iBook G4 via firewire or USB and boot it from the tower. My idea is that it would display on the iBook and ideally have data access to what is on the iBook at the same time. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks a lot. Any insight will be helpful.

Am I missing something; You want to use your ibook as a monitor/keyboard for the tower, yet still use the ibook as a stand-alone unit?

If so, connect the two by firewire and start the tower in 'target' mode. This will allow the tower HD to appear on the ibook. You will then have all of the files available for the ibook to use.
