2x 2.2 C2D MBP 15", 3x Mac Classic, Mac Mini, iPhone 3G, Clamshell
no , i haven't shut down my MBP since I got it, except for the calibration and occasional restarts for updates. And it is running normally.

As long as you're using your machine regularly it's never a problem. I run my mbp for weeks without actually turning it off.
