So, my MacBook has been restarting itself for no reason, but only when the machine is idle.

I took a nap earlier, with my MacBook on and an away message up, and when I woke up, it was back at the main login screen.

I'm really hoping this isn't a logic board issue, because I can't be without my Mac for a week. I don't have a spare computer anymore, and I don't want to be sans computer.

Any ideas what this could be or how to fix it?

is it set to require a password upon waking from screen saver?

maybe you have......RSS :( (random shutdown syndrome) I hope you don't but if it stays on without restarting then that might not be the case.

Yeah, it only restarts if it's been idle.

If I'm using it, I have no problems at all.

Well, after trying all the known solutions, the problem persists.

I've got an appointment at the Apple Store today.

I'll let you all know how that goes.

Although, mall security may be dragging me out crying. ;_;

Well, update.

Went to the Apple store yesterday, and they suggested to do an upgrade and install.

Okey doke.

Did it, and problem was not solved at all.

I've been noticing some strange points in the log coming from Safari, mostly JavaScript, but, well, Safari wasn't open when these popped up.

I'm going to go back down to Tiger for a lil' while and see if that fixes the problem, and maybe come back to Leopard when they've got it more stable.

Get on it Apple!
