Kern Protection Failure!!!

Running a Macbook Pro 2.4 GHZ, 2GB RAM,160GB HD, 10.5.2. Brand new.
Running Logic, Protools, iMovie crashing. Uninstalled Logic, Protools - repaired permissions. Reinstalled. Still crashing.

Have repaired permissions for disc, ACL permissions found but not expected on Applications. - Verified disk. Appeared with no errors. Did a archive and install of Leopard in the hope it would resolve the application crashing issues. No joy.

Looks like a bug in leopard....

Also what I initially suspected. Though not every user has this problem - but there is some previous posts on forums regarding Kern Protection Failure errors.
Other thoughts were faulty RAM - removed each slot and tested with 1 RAM slot installed but error still occurs.
Any other ideas?
