I am trying to download some trail software but my net connection sometimes cuts out making it hard for Firefox to complete the download.

Is there a free download manager anyone would recommend?

DownloadThemAll is a great add-on for Firefox. It supports broken downloads so you can restart where you left off. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer segmenting.
