Hello everyone, I need help/advice. I recently purchased a Mac Pro running OSX 10.5. I have a G4 running 10.4 and have a folder with hundreds of Fonts that I use on a daily bases. When I went to transfer my fonts folder to my new Mac Pro...several of the Fonts do not work. Is there something I have to do to get the to work?

What kind of font type are they? TTF?

windows TTF fonts should work ok

some older mac fonts store the info in a resource fork

If the data is transferred over old windows media (FAT16) then the fonts will lose their data (they will have 0 kilobytes)

Make sure you transfer any old mac fonts on mac cds or usb sticks

I'll try to burn the to CD then transfer them to my new Mac. Thanks for the advice. :)

Yup, I had that same problem when I transferred older fonts over (via ethernet) to an Xserve. What a headache it was when InDesign and Quark pages began crashing all over the place! :p
