So I just bought my first Mac system (black Macbook) this weekend and I'm quicklt getting addicted to the lifestyle. I've been back to the Apple Store twice to get more stuff. I've got a couple of Airport express' coming tomorrow for streaming music to my stereo and for wireless printing.

I was just wondering how people have set up their homes with Apple products. I'm interested in any set up and curious to see how creative some people have gotten.

I have some AirPort express units.. one to stream music from my Mac's throughout the house.. another is set to a printer to print wireless on the network.

I also have a PS3 set up to stream music... and most importantly movies on the network to be viewed on the big screen.

Congrats on your MacBook and welcome to the forums.

A MacBook Pro (mine), my wife has an HP laptop, a Dell Media Center PC for general use, my 4 year old has my old Dell laptop for games, and a Linux box for testing. Time Capsule for backups, storage, and wireless printing, and a PS3 for Blu-Ray, gaming and DLNA certified media center.

So, to answer the question, I have a Mac with a Time Capsule, waiting to get the use out of the media Center to replace it with an iMac and then I'm sure my wife will want a MacBook to replace her HP.

MacBook Pro for me, pieced-together PC for my husband (not sure of the specs). Netgear 802.11g wireless router, and five Airport Expresses hooked up to either stereo systems or speakers in the following rooms: living room, master bedroom, guest room, computer room, and garage. My computer connects wirelessly to the network, his does not have wireless capability so is connected via Ethernet to the wireless router. We both have iTunes on our computers that are set to stream to any AX or combination thereof. Would love to get Time Capsule, but already have a 500GB external HD so not ready to lay out the money just yet.

RIDE, how are you streaming to your PS3? I've installed Nullriver's media server but can't get it to work. I've got a macbook, macbook pro and an airport express. But for some reason the PS3 can't see the MB or MBP.

Thanks!

Tim

I have another D-Link, but I don't use it because it is hidden from any computer unless you have like 3 passwords, it's a pain to use (mainly because you can't save the passwords and the name).

I have... an iMac and an iPod. Only two Apple products I have... but they're connected to a HP C4180 All-In-One Printer and a Panasonic 5-disc stereo with a super woofer and surround sound. Although the surround sound speakers are sitting on top of my stereo.

I just want a studio apartment, but that's going to require saving up some money first.

Maybe in a year or two.

$450 a month doesn't sound like much until you tack on cable, internet, cell phone, gas, renter's insurance, car insurance, and food. Then that 450 a month turns into $1000 a month that I really don't have.

:/

One day though. One day soon.
