Problem with PDF files in Preview

So my problem is really simple but for some reason I can't seem to find any kind of info on it at all. When I open up PDF files in Preview, they do no scroll smoothly at all. If I use the track pad on my Macbook, the pages are very choppy, which causes me to lose my place when reading. I also have a bluetooth might mouse, but the page still appears choppy when I want to scroll down. I have a Black Macbook 2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duo with Santa Rosa chipset and 4GB of RAM. I have already tried changing the Greeking settings in preferences within Preview, as well as unchecking the anti-aliasing box.
