Why can I only stream a couple minutes then nothing?

I have cable internet w/ a wireless router. I have a macbook my roommate has a macbook pro. If I try to watch a streamed video online it will work for about 5 minutes max of the download then it will not continue to download any longer...why? It does this on my pc desktop as well. Any ideas? Something with the router or setup?

I'd say something to do with the website you are streaming from. I don't think it is on your end.

Since it is occurring on both your Mac and Win machines, I am inclined to believe it has to do with your ISP "managing" it's service. This type of thing is exactly what "net neutrality" is all about.
