Since my Mac book has fallen on the floor, he refuses to start. The apple logo appears, the clock turns during 5 minutes, and after it goes to a command screen, saying a lot of text, but never starting.
I've taken it to the Apple store, where they adviced me to start the notebook from an external hard drive, then format the internal hard drive (damaged) and everything shoule be fine. They just forgot to tell me how to do it.
Can anyone help??

Thanks a lot

Have you tried booting from the Install DVD by holding down 'C' after the chime? If you can get there, go to Disk utility, run Repair Disk and see if the HDD responds. If so you can reformat by doing an erase and install.

If not you may be looking at a new HDD or other problems.
