Invisible Files!

All of the documents on my desktop just disappeared. You can see the filename and a dotted box above it but if you double click, they disappear and you get an error message:

"The operation could not be completed.

An unexpected error occurred (error code -1401)."

I have searched and cannot find anything about error code -1401
Please help!

This happened to me a few months ago. I had to create a new profile and manually migrate my files, Apps and everything else to it. It was a pain but it worked.

How did you manually migrate your files? Do they open as another user?
