I am trying to move a picture from my computer to my cell phone.

After moving the file, the phone does not allow me to open it because the file is too big, not megabytes but the dimensions of the picture. How do I convert the picture to become smaller in dimensions? I want to reduce the DPI and pixels I guess. I went to google and didn't find what I was looking for.

Second question is, what size are pictures on cell phones?

Check out ImageWell. You'll be able to crop and resize your pics to desired resolution, and it even has a "maintain aspect" feature as well.

Most of all, it's free :)

1) If you have iPhoto you can do it there too and just resave under a different name. I've never tried imagewell but have heard others comment, mostly positively, on it.

2) That depends on what type of mobile phone you have. They display different resolutions and different sizes.
