I'm looking for a very simple program to create graphics with OSX Leopard, like the graphic sheet integrated in the older version of AppleWorks.
I do have Illustrator installed, but it is so confusing!
And I just need to create very simple graphic, like banners for websites and such, nothing too complicated.
Any suggestions?

Both GIMP and GraphicConverter are excellent for this sort of thing. I have both and use both. I can strongly recommend both. GIMP is rather like Photoshop Elements, only more powerful.

If you use GIMP, make sure you update X11 or you will run into some odd issues.
I love using the program.

Thanks! I'll give all of them a try and then choose the one best suited for me.

Has anyone tried Photoshop for Mac?
Does it allow you to animate photos like the PC based program?

The original poster said that he/she was looking for a simple program. Simple is not one of the words I would use to describe Photoshop, Mac or PC! In addition, for simple photo editing, Photoshop is prohibitively expensive.

Its too bad, but Corel has stopped supporting mac with the intel cpus. CorelDraw X3 is very robust, easy to learn, and for what the OP wanted... it would've been perfect. If you run Parallels/VM you could install it on the Windows XP as CD can export/save to a million file formats including pdfs. I'm a recent switcher and have used CD since it was first introduced, so I'm just too darn comfortable with it. I'm going to give Illustrator a shot, but I hear the learning curve is tedious.
