Quicktime shows white background

hi,,

my quicktime doesn't play videos with format H.264 only audio
I installed Perian but it still plays audio with white background
it plays all video formats except H.264

what to do? and is there any other components to install?

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but have you made sure you've got the latest versions of Quicktime and Perian?

Also, is it doing that with Quicktime movies? Make sure everything is up to date, restart and see if that makes any difference.

May not be relevant to your problem, but I'd also check out flip4mac. Just a useful thing to have for mac.
