UserSwitching: silly question ;)

I have, somehow, turned off the funky effect that happens when you switch users; the whole screen flipping. It looks neat and I wanna turn it back on, but cannot figure out where

Please help me out. Thanks!

Go to system preferences, select Users and there click on log-in options.

There you should see a check box called 'enable fast user switching'.

That box should be ticked.

Voila!

Edit:

Just saw that you only said the effect was switched off... Do you still see a list of user names in the top right hand corner? If not then the above solution should work for you. If you still have the names but not the effect then I'll have to take another look later...
