Last time I bought a mac I missed out on the 0% finance by around a week.

Is that an offer that they tend to repeat now and then?

Is there any pattern to how often they do repeat it if this is the case?

I don't know about Apple.com or the Apple stores but keep in mind that Best Buy now sells Macs and you might be able to get 0% from them...

Same goes for Fry's.

I'm guessing thats not a uk thing?

I wouldn't buy off anyone other than direct from apple now after my recent experience with a macbook though.

I found a couple of uk companies that do 0% but I shan't be using them for this reason.

Thanks for the info.

Why would you be afraid of buying a Mac from an authorized retailer?

I bought a macbook from a premium reseller 4 weeks ago.
It had a few minor faults so I took it back.
Minor faults which could have been simply fixed turned into major arguments.
Apple were unwilling to help as it had not been bought from them.

So I'm either going to replace the macbook, but buy directly from apple, in about 6 weeks when I can afford it again. (I had to buy a cheap pc to tide me over while the macbook was being not fixed so finances are to low right now)
Or wait and get a MBP on 0%.

The whole story is on this thread

Interesting....good to know. Stinks you had such a horrible experience though. Hopefully the MBP you're wanting to get will be better.

For the record, Apple doesn't offer financing. The financial institution used by Apple for "Apple Loans" however may (from time to time) offer such deals.

Maybe I'll just get a 0% credit card to pay with, I'm to impatient for my own good.

Can't decide what I'd like now though.

The Macbook is excellent and very portable,
but the plastics a bit creaky, the screens a bit small and you have to choose from the two colours.

The Macbook Pro also looks excellent and isn't any less portable than the mackbook (in 15"),
but it is way overpriced and it's not as nice looking as the Macbook.

Tough decision.

For me the big difference was the graphics card. There are a number of GPU accelerated applications out now and the MBP will run those much faster.

I don't think I really need that, but it is one of the considerations.
I don't really use any graphical apps.
The MBP I'm interested in though is the one with the 256Mb of graphics ram.

I think my decision will be in the build quality, the macbook is a little creaky, I'm yet to have a good go with a mbp, if it's solid that will win me over.
