Shareware help!

I just got a MacbookPro for Christmas, and Limewire and all the other shareware applications won't connect. All of the other Macs in the house have no problem connecting and searching for songs and such. I've tried different programs, entering the codes in the firewall preferences, and downloading different plug-ins but none of it works! Has anybody else had this problem and know how to fix it??? Thanks!

Frostwire, Aquisition, and all those don't either....none of them will connect....and my internet is fine...everything else works..

Is your firewall on? Try turning it off and see if that makes a difference.

*sigh* firewall has been off....no luck!
