Entourage won't open

I'm running Office 2004 on 10.4.11 and Entourage will not open.
This just began to happen out of the blue.
All the other Office apps open fine.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing disk permissions, attempting to open from version 11.3.5 and after updating to 11.3.10.
Nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?

when you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you do the entire office suite or only enturage?

Are your Office updates up to date? Also make sure the Office Test Drive has been removed from your system to. Some folks seem to have had issues with both versions installed on their computers.

Your Entourage database may need a deep tissue massage. Hold down the Option key, launch Entourage, keep the Option key held down. You will be rewarded with a dialog box that offers to Rebuild the database. It will repair, compact and optimize the database. And leave a backup in your Main Identities folder. It is good medicine.

I uninstalled & reinstalled entire Office.
There is no Office Test Drive folder that I could find.

I tried rebuilding db, however holding option key only closes Entourage.
The program doesn't even begin to load, allowing me to create a new identity.
Does anyone know the first thing Entourage looks for when you open it? That could be the key. Is it a font? Network connection?

Again, all the other Office apps open fine. I even tried creating another user profile with admin rights. Same results.

Have you tries deleting the entourage prefs in User > library > Preferences > Microsoft ?

RE entourage won't open

I just installed Entourage update this morning and now my Entourage won't open either :-(

I held down the option key while launching it but it just froze again.

Entourage fix

The fix (in my case) was to remove all Stuffit files & then reinstall Stuffit.
Try this first: Open Stuffit & select Install Stuffit Engine.
Open Entourage.
If it doesn't open, try the reinstall.

thanx for that but it magically started working again without any other input from me. it's been fine ever since.
