Expose controls on my Volume buttons?

Hi there I recently purchased a macbook and after using it for a couple of hours i realised that the volume buttons on my keyboard (F9/10/12) no longer controlled the volume but instead done expose functions to the screen. When I press the fn button they do what there meant to do but i wish to ruturn them to defult functions. Can anyone tell me how this is done, ive searched high and low on the net and cant find a thing!

Try this:
Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse
There should be a box that says "use all F1, F2, ect. keys as standard fuction keys... if it is checked, uncheck it. If that doesn't work, go to keyboard shortcuts and return to default
